Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how and when we collect, use, and share information when you connect to the craftland game server, talk on the forums, browse the website, or otherwise use our services through Craftland.org or its related sites and services.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that we do not own or control, including Mojang and Facebook.

The Craftland.org server and website collect some Personal Data from its users. Upon opening the Craftland.org client, you will be prompted to agree to this policy once a year*.

Information We Collect and how and why we use it

Among the types of Personal Data that Craftland.org collects, by itself or through third parties, there are: Email Addresses, Cookies, Gameplay Data, IP Addresses, Passwords and System Information.

All of this information is needed to provide our services, such as when we use your information to save your progress, to settle disputes, or to provide players with help.

  • Email Addresses are collected for the purpose of registering and using a Craftland.org website account. Users can change their email address at any time and a user's Email Address may be used as a method of contact if the Craftland Staff Team has any concerns, queries or important notices. Users' Email Addresses that are collected may be emailed newsletters and notices from the Craftland Administrators whenever deemed neccessary (this will likely be in the event of an update to the server or rules/policies).
  • Cookies are used for the sole purpose of improving the user's experience on the Craftland.org website.
  • Gameplay Data (which includes but is not limited to; messages sent, commands performed and private messages sent) is collected for the purpose of investigation if the Craftland Staff Team suspects any suspicious/malicious activity or infraction of the server rules (of which all users agree to by playing on Craftland.org). Gameplay Data may be shared between members of the Craftland Staff Team in the case of an investigation.
  • Gameplay Data is also stored for the purpose of in-game milestones (also known as Achievements) to reward the user with various virtual items (EG. Vote 100 times).
  • IP addresses are collected for the purpose of investigation (checking if users are avoiding punishments by using a different username) and punishing users based upon their IP address. A user's IP address will also be used to transmit data between the server and the user's game client.
  • User Passwords are securely stored and kept for the sole purpose of allowing users to access the Craftland.org website.
  • System Information will only be gathered and stored if the user's client crashes or when the user uses the /report command ingame. This information is solely used to investigate bugs/glitches within Craftland and to assist users whos clients are crashing for unknown reasons.

Additionally, due to how browsers work, we may recieve information such as your IP address and device information when you visit and navigate the Craftland.org website. This information will only be used to improve your navigation experience and to prevent incoming connections from banned users or suspicious addresses.

Data Retention

All user data is stored forever unless requested otherwise by the user (Note that deleting a users' data will clear all of their progress on Craftland.org).

All user data is stored within secure documents and databases at the host location.

Transfers of Personal Information Outside the EU

We may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. As a result, we may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction. If we am deemed to transfer information about you outside of the EU, we rely on Privacy Shield as the legal basis for the transfer, as Google Cloud is Privacy Shield certified.

Your Rights

If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. We describe these rights below:

  • Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you by contacting us using the contact information below.
  • Change, restrict, delete. You may also have rights to change, restrict our use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where we are required to store data for legal reasons) we will generally delete your personal information upon request.
  • Object. You can object to (i) our processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, we will delete your personal information unless we have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.
  • Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about our use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.

All users have the right to request more information of what is being stored about them at any time by contacting one of the Craftland Administrators (This can be done via Discord).

We take user privacy seriously and will take all neccessary measures to ensure that your private information is protected.

We do not sell, rent or share any personal Users' Data to any third parties for any purpose.
